Wake me at 8:00 a.m.

Today there was no looking for smooched snakes or dodging tire debris, or fighting the wind to get another mile up the road.

Today was for sleeping in, getting a massage, going to the Post Office to mail home items that "weight too much" and visiting the Dwight D. Eisenhower library and museum. In other words after nine straight days of riding it was a rest day....yeah!

We also had dinner at a local restaurant that has been in Abilene. KS. for about 20 years. It's a classic, serving fried chicken, cream corn, chicken cream gravy, mash potatoes and home made biscuits. One of Jylly's favorites as a young girl.
Then when we were leaving the Brookville Hotel, a big bus pulled up and out walked Len Dawson (the Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback) with his "posse"....and yes we all did stare.
